Kent By Night

Back in 1999-2001 vampires all over the world began to go crazy, thinking they were their sires, the result being they thought they had more blood to "spend" than their bodies actually had, and they gorged on blood thinking they could hold more than they really could ever hold.

It was 100% lethal to anyone who caught it, even and especially Malkavians and the Tremere.

Approximatly half of the Sabbat were destroyed by the plague, one third of the Camarilla was annhiliated and there was enver an official count of how many Independant vampires were destroyed.

The Plague was blamed on the Tremere and the Assamites, neither of whom claimed responsibility for it.

As the kindred of the world were slowlybeing wiped out the plague seemed to have all but vanished of its own accord.

Humans who were Carriers still have the dormant plague in them, but it is a psuedo magical infection and as such remains virtually undetectable.

The City of London, under the guidance of Prince Mithras was slowly closed down.

The kindred formed their own small groups and private courts, which the prince still endorsed.

However, the Plague took a terrible toll on the Princes liniage, all of his childer were killed by the plague, which caused him to relent in to Torpor, leaving the city in the hands of an advisor, Nicodemus (of Nosferatu).

Nicodemus slowly forced the many kindred out of london, some went missing, thought to be the last victims of the Plague, others fled claiming sanctuary in other cities.

Once Nicodemus took over however, his paranoia grew stronger, and he employed a number of kindred from Kent (an officially recognized Autarkis state) to kill those in london who were in his way to be able to claim the Throne of london properly.

In February 2007 Nicodemus realised that there were other kindred once again operating in london in the open, so he put out a call to all of them asking them to attend the "New London Court", hoping to gain information on them to see if they were a threat to his life.

He claimed to be getting tired, the ages having taken their toll on him, and that he was looking to leave some one else as Regent of London.

This was where the Red Court started... (the previous LARP that run for two and a half years)

Since then, Nicodemus has fled the court, and was apparently killed by a rogue garou on the Thames Embankment close to one of his known havens.

He had however left a former ghoul, embraced that night, to watch the Court.

Beatrice Crombie however soon took control of the court, having been a Ghoul for over 100 years gave her more than enough time to learn a LOT about the kindreds way of doing things.

As 2007 passed, London came in to conflict with Kent, controlled by a supposedly Rogue Tremere, Dominique StSyr.

StSyr sent agents to the court after "peace talks" to claim a body of a recently staked gangrel, Faith Rex, who was inciting war with the garou.

The agents however botched things, and Crombie ended up fighting one of them hand to hand, killing him eventually but not at great cost to herself.

Things didnt seem to add up however, and a Ventrue Archon came to claim the throne of the city. Dante Salazar, actually a Lasombra Antitribu who claimed sanctuary with the Ventrue.

Come the end of the year, Sabbat had "taken" manchester, and set their sites on the visibly weak london.

StSyr visited london personally, breaching her Banishment orders from clan Tremere, and announced the truth of what happened with Nicodemus all those years ago and that he was responsible for the deaths of many of the vampires in london.

StSyr and Crombie got in to a fight, Crombies "pet" gangrel and sheriff, Tyler, had some how been dominated, as had the Tremere Primogen, Dr Norton by Dominique though Thaumaturical rituals.

Crombie went mad, or rather her madness was mad visible for all to see, and StSyr exanguinated her, before claiming Praxis of london (the archon was away at the time, seeing to events in Manchester).

StSyr and Salazar sorted things out, and she retreated back to her Kentish borders, allowing Salazar to remain prince.

Shortly after, during the christmas and new year period of 2007, a sudden influx of pure drugs were sold on the streets at cut rate prices and caused the deaths of nearly 5000 people within the space of a week, London is still reeling from the effects this had, and many blame terrorists, thuogh some members of the court suspect others are behind it, possible even someone in the Red Court itself..

Since then, Salazar has been captured by the Sabbat and Dr Norton has been granted Regency of the Throne of London.

The Sabbat have made a bargain with Salazar, for the next year (feb to feb), the Camarilla will have Southern London, and the Sabbat will have Northern London, only the City central will remain unclaimed.

The Sabbat and the Camarilla were evenly matched, and they had a "contest of wits and skill", as decided by Salazar and the Bishop controlling the Sabbat.

Who ever wins the contest wins london.

The Sabbat destroyed the new Sheriffs Herd, Resources & Haven in one fell swoop, by blowing up an old church/night club in Camden town.

Unaligned Anarchs thought they were being blamed for the bombing, The Sabbat had allowed the Camarilla to sort out the breaches of masquerade they make daily, using up their valuable influences..

The court itself suspected that there was more than one sabbat spy within the court, and the Anarchs were hollering for the Sheriffs blood, after he killed one of them who had been found to have diablerisied his own sire (he didnt know he had done it, the event was blocked from his memory).

By the end of the year when the Bet was called the Sabbat had gained thorough control over london, and many of its Camarilla members fled or were destroyed.

Through out 2008 & 2009 the Sabbat ruthlessly dominated London, bringing almost the entire UK to its knees.

In 2010 the European Elders & Justicars descended on london and spent over a year and a half hunting the belligerent Sabbat Covens, Culminating in several Riots across London, Manchester & Newcastle.

Since then England has slowly been rebuilding itself, London is considered a No Go area to ALL kindred at the moment, though there is news that a small & select group of European Kindred are re-establishing a Court there.

Kent has, perhaps alarmingly, lost its Autarkis Status, with Dominique StSyr returning to Venice to give a full accounting of her time spent doing valuable research. Her place as Governer of Kent remains in conjecture, however many of the kindred in kent still consider her to be the 'Prince' and as such keep in line with her edicts, which were a stricter version of the Masquerade.
